Having given notice of the dissolution of my partnership with
MR. SHAW & MR. MACLEAN, carried on under the firm of GORDON SHAW & Co. I beg leave to inform you, that it will subsist for the purposes of liquidation until the 1st of september next,
when it will finally terminate.
I have made a new arrangement with MR. MACLEAN, to continue my Entablishment
here, under the firm of WILLIAM GORDON & Co. to commence on the termination of my former House. In my absence, it will be conducted by MR. MACLEAN. His experience acquired during
a residence of three years, in my former Establishment, his knowledge of business, and correctness give him claims to this mark of my confidence, and will I trust secure to him the approbation of
my friends.
We shall be ever desirous to cultivate the Connection of my respected uncle, and
former partner, MR. DUFF, who on withdrawing form business, resigned it in my favour.
The business addressed to the firm of GORDON SHAW & Co. till the 1st of
September will in the course of the liquidation, be attended to by them as before. Subsequent to that period, permit me to offer the services of my new Firm. An adequate Capital will enable us to afford every desirable accommodation, and we beg to solicit a continnuation of your confidence & friendship. With reference to our annexed respective signatures.
