El Puerto de Santa María, 17th February 2017. At their headquarters in El Puerto de Santa María, the Osborne Foundation presented a number of projects that have been designed by students to create sustainable new uses for the buildings which once housed old wineries in this area of Cádiz.
The Santa María Councillor for Town Planning, Angel Quintana, President of the Osborne Foundation, Tomás Osborne, and the FIUS Project Coordinator and Associate Professor, Luis González-Boado were all in attendance for the presentation of the project, entitled ‘New Uses for Hundred-Year-Old Wineries in the 21st Century’.
The students have been working in detail on a ‘real-life’ case, coming up with solutions for the group of wineries owned by Osborne in the city centre which are referred to as ‘Export Wineries’. The challenge that was set for them by the Osborne Foundation was to design a training centre, with the wineries housing classrooms, meeting rooms, auditoriums and other such spaces.
The exhibition is housed in the Osborne Foundation area of the Mora Winery, at Calle los Moros 7 in El Puerto de Santa María. It will be open to visitors until the 21st April, with visiting hours between 10:00 and 14:30. Entry is free.
